I am not a doctor, and am not giving any medical advice, just sharing what I have learned. I am always reading about fibromyalgia, because I seem to have a particularly bothersome case of it. I found some articles where it was mentioned that the microbiome in many patients has a lot of the "bifidus" type of beneficial bacteria, but they are short on the "propio" type of beneficial bacteria. I looked around and this was the only probiotic that said anything about the propio type in the ingredients. I also read that apparently this is used in Europe as a therapy for fibro...? So, I thought I would try it. It really makes a difference for me, I see the benefits mainly in less aching. I ran out recently, and my muscles started doing that thing where they are just contracted so tight, and hard as a rock, super painful. Nothing seemed to help. And, my sleep felt like it was getting better, and now that I ran out of this stuff, my sleep has been absolute crap. It's one of those "don't know what you've got til it's gone" type of things, and I had forgotten how much it was doing for me. I'm getting more of it delivered next-day, because I don't want to be without it any longer than I have to be! I know it's a bit pricey, but it's worth it to me to be able to take that edge off the extreme body pain that basically puts me out of commission.
I take it at night and wake up with flat belly in the morning, before I used to feel gas and bloating in the morning.
Very good product for my gut health. One downside though and that is the price. It is much cheaper with other suppliers.
It’s great that I found such probiotics with propionibacterium, as it’s not common in usual probiotic blends. Hope it will work well for me. Update: i did work, great!
The probiotic in Securil produces propionic acid. Propionic acid feeds bifdo bacteria and also inhibits yeast. Bifido bacteria are the main beneficial bacteria in the colon. The colon should contain 1 trillion bacteria/ml whil the small intestine should only contain 10000 bacteria/ml. I used to take a lot of lactobacilli supplements. Lactobacilli also live in the small intestine. For people with small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), lactobacilli supplements can aggravate bloating. Now I take Securil with a bifido bacteria supplement only and it's easier to tolerate. It takes a long time to build up bifido levels by supplementation as the bacteria have to survive all the way through the intestinal tract before they reach the colon. Securil is unique in its action because it feeds endogenous bifido bacteria. It's a very good probiotic to start with for people who are unsure which probiotics would suit them.
These probiotics in addition to sunsweet prunes have helped my fissure to heal. The prunes did not do it alone, so I ordered these based on the NIH research. You do not have to continue taking these to repopulate your system. It has been about 3 months now and I've been regular since, without buying another box. I had chronic constipation, now I have a bowel movement 15 mins after I eat.

I have SIBO and fructose malabsorbance and use this in combination with 1/2 capsule KyoDophilus. It does work, stool became a bit better and started smelling normal. Definitely recommended if you need to start with probiotics and can't tolerate them. I remove the capsule which has hypromellose, which I can't tolerate as well, and then put it in a beef gelatin cap from Now.
