There are so many uses and benefits of Fenugreek Seeds.I love this and use these seeds (after soaking in water overnight to maximize effectiveness). One should soak the untreated seeds in water overnight and cook over low heat for 3-5 minutes for max benefit. They swell up nicely and are, to me, pretty tasty as they are, reminiscent of wheat berries but not quite as chewy. Roasted seeds may be ground into flour. Soaked ones can be eaten straight or added to other foods. I add them to pancakes, cookies, soups and salads. Can also be soaked in hot water as a tea or sprouted. There are so many uses & benefits of Fenugreek seeds. Highly recommended.
Recently, my doctor told me that the dry mouth I was experiencing was the inevitable result of old age. I wasn't convinced. Since I relied on fenugreek's humectant properties to recover from reoccurring bronchitis, I ordered this organic fenugreek to remedy the dry mouth. I've been drinking 1 cup of a cold decoction daily for about a month now. The dry mouth condition has completely resolved and there's an unexpected boon: I feel completely refreshed. (My herb book says the Egyptians used fenugreek as an overall body tonic.) It's having that effect on me! UPDATE: Since my mouth dryness has pretty much resolved, my doctor inquired about what I was using. Another boon to fenugreek, is that it eases the release of toxins built up in the lungs ... an important factor for those wanting to heal from reoccurring bronchitis, as I am. The hard jelly-like phelgm that gets coughed up and out has been shocking while there's appreciation for the freed-up lung space that's allowing more easy, expanded breathing.
Fenugreek seeds have many health benefits, I use them manly for blood pressure and cholesterol reduction. I put 1 tsp seeds into a cup, add boiling water, let’s stand for 10-15 minute, strain and drink. The strained seeds are now soft , I add one tsp of honey or maple syrup, mix and eat with spoon. Apparently they help with weight loss.
I use these when making rice and/or beans. Flavorful and healthful. It's a small but important part of my diet! These are fresh and flavorful! And the price is right!!! I appreciate IHerb's free shipping policy and try to order enough each time to get it. It saves a bunch over their already planet-wide low prices for fresh, whole, pure, foods! Thanks!
I am writing to recommend Frontier Co-op Organic Fenugreek Seed, Ground to you. This spice is perfect for adding flavor to your dishes. It has a unique aroma and flavor that blends well with other spices. It is perfect for adding to curries and other cooked dishes. I highly recommend Frontier Co-op Organic Fenugreek Seed, Ground to you because it is a healthy and delicious way to add flavor to your food.
I was extremely impressed by the potency of the product. Just a small spoonful in my meals or drinks was enough to perceive its presence. It has a unique aroma, slightly sweet and bitter with a hint of maple, that added a distinct touch to my dishes. Perfect for curries especially, and I love the health benefits. I used to use fenugreek seeds, but they're so bitter to bite into, so I like the milder flavor of this powdered version. I think the frontier brand has a great track record so far with my pantry.
I originally bought these fenugreek seeds to sprout, but after 2 attempts at sprouting and reading the questions on this product listing, I realized these are for making into a powder. I soak them in filtered water overnight and add them to my morning smoothies or I just eat them soaked and raw. They make me smell like maple syrup rather than BO so I love using these in as many things as I can.
I decided to buy this products after reading the benefits of fenugreek seeds for hair. I soak them in water for eight hours, make a paste by grinding the seeds in blender, add some amla powder and oil and apply the mask in hair for 20-30 minutes. The results are great! Leave hair smooth and silk and you don't even want to use conditioner!
Like so many herbs, fenugreek has many uses and benefits. Has a maple-like flavor, used to stimulate milk production. Great for menopause symptoms, curb hunger. I add a little to my yogurt or protein shakes to curb hunger. Frontier is organic which I like. A little goes a long way, so value is great.
